Vinyl – New Amerykah Part 1

Description & Details
In 2008, Erykah Badu released 'New Amerykah Part One (4th World War),' her most political work and a rallying call for unity. The project contains "Master Teacher," a track written by Georgia Anne Muldrow that brought he term"woke" to the 21st century. Since the song's release, the definition of "woke" has been stretched far beyond its original meaning. It is commonly used as a stand in for "Black."
The concept became popular online over a decade ago, when Badu tweeted "Truth requires no belief. Stay woke. Watch closely," in reference to the detainment of a punk band. The prevalence of the phrase speaks to Black women's bone-deep impact on popular culture, language and ideology.
The album that changed sociopolitical commentary forever is now available on vinyl on Badu World Market. See the tracklist below.
